Pressure Release overview:

Pressure Release (PR):

Exclusive Petainer design: fitting remains open once keg is tapped for dispensing

Advantage:

  • Built-in safety device
  • Designed to automatically release pressure
  • Eliminates risk of ‘human error’ when depressurizing keg
  • Ensures keg is depressurized correctly; ensuring safety and facilitating disposal

Implication:

  • The keg fitting remains open after decoupling; even if not fully dispensed.
  • Requires education on line cleaning and disconnection.

    Non-Pressure Release (NPR):

    Fitting replicates standard keg fitting

    Advantage

    • Keg can be tapped repeatedly.
    • Requires less education at the bar and is easier to use
    • Line cleaning is not an issue

    Implication

    • Critical to understand how to depressurize keg –  open to ‘human error’
    • Requires keg to be depressurized manually once the keg is fully dispensed.
    • Requires depressurizing tool to be used.
